American Indian College Fund
Based in Denver, with offices in New York City, the nonprofit College Fund was created in 1989 to raise private support for scholarships, endowments and public awareness for Native higher education. In 1999 alone, the Fund has raised more than $33 million on behalf of the 30 tribal colleges it was founded to support.

American Indian Graduate Center, Inc.
For over thirty years the American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) has awarded more than 9000 fellowships to qualified Native American and Alaskan Native students to pursue graduate degrees in all fields. The number of students applying has increased, and it is AIGC’s intent to fund all those who apply.

American Indian Higher Education Consortium
The American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) is a unique—and uniquely American Indian—organization. It was founded in 1972 by the presidents of the nation’s first six Tribal Colleges, as an informal collaboration among member colleges. Today, AIHEC has grown to represent 34 colleges in the United States and one Canadian institution. Unlike most professional associations, it is governed jointly by each member institution.

FIND AFFORDABLE ONLINECOLLEGES TODAY
Distance learning is here to stay. Initially on the fringes of formal education, online colleges, courses and degree programs have quickly become mainstream. Even traditional campus-based institutions have incorporated online learning into their curricula. In 2013, seven million college students — nearly 50 percent of all those enrolled — took at least one online class, with an estimated 20 percent earning an entire degree program remotely. The Sloan Consortium reports that 74 percent of today’s academic leaders rate the educational outcomes of online learning as equal to or superior to those of face-to-face systems. More recruiters than ever before are embracing online credentials.

Native American Scholarships
Native American engineering scholarships (American Indian and Alaska Natives) help to support the most underrepresented group in engineering. Native Americans constitute 0.7 percent of the overall population, and 0.9 percent of both school-aged (nine-to-17-year-old) and college-aged (18-to-24-year- old) individuals, yet only account for 0.4 percent of all engineering bachelor’s degrees earned in the U.S. Native Americans are also the most underrepresented group in the engineering workforce, as they comprise only 0.2 percent of engineering faculty and 0.3 percent of employed engineers. To address this issue, NACME had awarded 726 Native American scholarships since our founding in 1974.

School Grants, College Scholarships, Financial Aid, and More
There is nothing like school grants as far as ways to pay for school are concerned. You don’t have to pay them back, and that alone sets them above loans or even assistance from family or friends. In our society, education is, or is at least supposed to be, encouraged, so there are a number of grant programs and sources in place that can be accessed by those wishing to get educated. Let’s take a look at some of the essential information necessary to get school grants and make your education something affordable.
